ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE SHAKES THE UNDERWORLD by Nefer Akhen

paperSunday evening an earthquake shook the underworld. The earthquake was followed by two quick blackouts that caused people to lose track of time. Thankfully, no casualties were caused by these events.

Locals have shared concern about the integrity of the inner crusts of our world. However, it is to be expected, one geologist stated, “the nature of the tectonic plates in the area make for a lot of seismic activity.”

There was also a concern about how it had affect the surface. There were reassurances by self-appointed authorities that structures, the local fauna, and vegetation were not affected.

The earthquake did not help the panic which had stricken the population as their search for local resources continues.

“The earthquakes keep coming! You keep seeing less and less chickens! And now the trees are disappearing! It’s the end of times!”

An explorer was one of the individuals who commented on how the two phenomena was not linked: “We know where the stuff is. People keep hoarding it! I keep looking for sheep, can’t find the sheep, and then I hear a baaaaaa. Where is the baaa coming from? Someone’s house!”

Geologists and environmental scientists concur.

The underworld, affected by the earthquake, has change once again. Cartographers have expressed some concerns. “What can we do? It’s nature! Or is there a greater force at work forcing this changes?”, an amateur cartographer pondered. “Well, it doesn’t matter! I guess I will have to scrap my old maps! Maybe my cat will find some use for them!”

nefer_catRegardless of the source of the underworld changes, some cartographers remained hopeful. A cartographer from the Frost Legion tribe commented on how there is only so much mapping you can do before there are changes. “It would be nice if we could reinforce the underworld, but then after mapping it all, we will have to find another job!”

An explorer from the same tribe, reminisced about the way the underworld used to be: the old massive mazes. These smaller underworlds may be constantly changing, but not only are they more manageable to explore, the changes to the layouts reinvigorates those who are explorers at heart.

Yet another explorer expressed concern. “What does this mean for those of us who are tired of the first levels. Well, now I need to go explore and go through the process of finding my way to the next levels of the underworld. I need to go encounter dragons to prove myself! I just hope I can find my way to one before an earthquake hits again.”

One thing is for sure, we can expect more changes to occur as the world continues to evolve. How will it continue to affect our community? Only time will tell.
