Pre-Purge Update: Randomized underworld, partial material refunds and more.

Now the underworld will be more difficult as it will generate new mazes every day. Though the first cave level will only be reset weekly so that your stairs don’t get destroyed too often. There is also a new item that will allow you to escape back to the overworld immediately. This item can only be found inside treasure chests.

Whenever you destroy something it will drop half the materials used to build it. A new effect has been added which shows the materials popping up and falling onto the ground. This effect also applies to mining and chopping so you can easily see which materials you are getting.

Whenever you close the page/tab while logged in a dialog will come up asking you if you really want to leave.

You can now remove bonus slots from equipment (which lowers break chance) by adding a very small amount of gems during the smithing process. A bug has been fixed where the gem amount could be changed during smithing. Clubbing has been added to the skill bonuses. The gem requirements for skills have been smoothed out some – for everything between +1 and +10.

In case you log out in the underworld and it randomizes there is now a login check to see if the place you want to log back into is now blocked. If it is then the server will move you to the nearest open space that isn’t a floor tile. The server has also been optimized so NPCs are no longer saved to the database while no players are around (They may wait for you at a staircase).

I posted in the forums earlier that I added the player graphics to the leaderboards. Soon I will be adding recent deaths, top legends of all time (dead characters), and richest players as well.

Almost everything is in place to start the purge and test out persistent logins. I have a couple more things to add which will probably happen sometime next week. I will give a warning before the big update drops. Have fun!
